Dear Sharra, Yesterday I wrote that we need to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars before January 23rd. My deep gratitude to those of you who responded. We haven't made it to our goal yet, but we're raising enough that we're on our way!
Today I'm continuing with the same refrain. Unfortunately I have to. The primary message of this campaign is how economically unjust America has become, and that applies to politics as much as to anything else. |
What we need in this country — and badly — is a Constitutional Amendment establishing public funding for political campaigns. But in the meantime, we have to deal with the system as it is. Right now, we simply need to talk about raising the money to take us to the finish line.
We're the only Democratic campaign that stands for fundamental reform in this country, as opposed to some version of the status quo. Ours is the campaign that stands for an Economic Bill of Rights, waging peace, declaring a Climate Emergency, establishing a Department of Children and Youth, and ending America's war on drugs. If we want that, we can have it — but only if we make it happen. Please look in your heart and see how you feel. If you feel moved to invest in a new beginning in America, and if you think I'm the candidate who can help initiate the change, then please give whatever you can to make it happen.
