Sharra, Pride Month is both a time of boundless joy and a fervent call to action; a celebration of the hard-won rights of the LGBTQIA+ liberation movement and a reminder of the work there is yet to do.
This year particularly, a dark cloud looms over the festivities. Republican lawmakers are waging an all-out war against the transgender community, and the foundation of these attacks establish a dangerous legal precedent that can and will undo many of the freedoms that every American deserves. I am running for President to help realign American public policies with the First Principles of our mission statement, the Declaration of Independence. First and foremost, we are committed to this truth: that all men are created equal, deserving of equal protection by the law. It is the responsibility of every generation of Americans to stand firm for this principle, no matter who or what group of Americans might be at risk. Now, America's transgender community is at risk. Last year was the worst year on record for state legislation targeting the trans community, with 174 total bills introduced in states all across the union. This year, nearly 560 anti-trans bills have been introduced in 49 states. This onslaught of legislative violence is enabled by a complacent and complicit federal government, which has failed to codify LGBTQIA+ protections into law since the first raid at the Stonewall Inn. It took all the way to 2015 before marriage equality became the law of the land under the landmark Obergefell v. Hodges decision from the Supreme Court. Yet we learned just how easily settled law can be clawed back by a single SCOTUS decision with the downfall of Roe last year. In 2023 there is still no federal law explicitly protecting the LGBTQ communities from discrimination. These communities, therefore, do not enjoy the full breadth of freedoms that this country espouses to guarantee to each and every citizen. As President, I will immediately grant the status of Special Protection to our transgender community and direct the Department of Justice to vigorously investigate any civil rights transgression against members of the LGBTQIA+ Americans. No group of Americans, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender, religion, or ethnicity, will ever feel neglected or abandoned by a Williamson administration. Throughout our history, we have been challenged by those who would seek to repudiate the fundamental American dedication to freedom and equality for all. The idea that there is a God-given, inalienable right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness "except for them," is a stain on our national character. And the ability to pursue a livelihood free from discrimination is a right denied, every day, to members of the LGBTQIA+ communities. It is estimated that roughly 7% of the US population identifies as LGBTQIA+. But this large percentage of our population still does not have full legal rights and due process rights in many aspects of their life. When I am president, I will change that. If you agree that we need a president who will firmly stand beside the LGBTQIA+ communities until their rights are fully protected under federal law, please consider a contribution to my campaign today.

| My administration will:
- Champion the original Equal Rights Amendment, as well as the Amendment for Constitutional Equality.
- Fight for The Equality Act, Every Child Deserves a Family Act, the PRIDE Act, and other bills to prohibit discrimination.
- Appoint cabinet members from LGBTQIA+ communities to ensure continued involvement and representation.
- Fight discrimination in health care settings, which endangers LGBTQIA+ people's lives through delays, harassment, and humiliation.
- Fight for continued HIV prevention, treatment, and support programs.
- Include sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes under the federal Fair Housing Act, therefore making it illegal to deny any LGBTQIA+ citizen housing.
- Address the laws that in some states enable and embolden businesses and service providers to refuse to serve LGBTQIA+ citizens, by expanding spaces protected from discrimination to include public accommodations like shops and restaurants.
- Include LGBTQIA+ people in the census.
- Appoint an Attorney General who prioritizes prosecuting hate crimes against the LGBTQIA+ community, including ending "gay panic" and "trans panic" as a defense for violent crimes.
- Abolish police abuse of the LGBTQIA+ community.
- Fund houseless relief programs specifically targeting LGBTQIA+ youth, who are disproportionately represented in unsheltered populations across the board.
- Provide pathways to easily change legal identification, to match one's name, identity, etc.
...and much more. You can read my full policy on LGBTQIA+ rights here. The legislative war now being waged against the transgender community – at a horrifying pace, not only on the state level but also among private companies that directly target the existence and safety of LGBTQ Americans – results from the federal government's failure to act affirmatively in defense of their human rights. The good news – and there is good news, Sharra – is that such policies are completely out of sync with the beliefs and values of everyday Americans. The majority of Republican as well as Democratic voters support LGBTQ rights. For this is not a partisan issue; it's a human one. Democrats need to lead the way in securing the rights and safety of the LGBTQ community.
I have had a special relationship with LGBTQ Americans for decades, having been active during the AIDS crisis and personally privy to their extraordinary contribution to our society. I will continue to stand in defense of their liberties and in pursuit of their rights. I will take that charge to the White House, and when I am President we will secure full federal protections and freedom from discrimination for all Americans. I hope that you will give generously to help me do it.
