Dear Sharra, Regardless what happens in November, this generation of Americans — by that, I mean all of us who are adults whether we are 18 or 80 — has a lot of thinking to do. As a nation we're going through a collective identify crisis, deciding whether or not to cleave to principles on which we were founded.
It's clear that Americans are not happy about our choices in this year's election cycle, but that doesn't mean we're apathetic. The voters I meet appear deeply concerned to me. People seem to be processing what has happened, trying to figure out how we got to where we are, almost flummoxed that so much of what we thought of as America's power and strength have practically disintegrated before our eyes. |
Yet new beginnings are always possible. These are difficult times but there is a spirit within us, as there was within our ancestors, guiding us to breakthroughs we cannot even yet imagine. Traveling around the country I meet people who constantly renew my faith, Americans ready and willing to repair our democracy and create a more beautiful world.
As we complete our campaign journey, I'm so grateful to have a chance to meet as many concerned Americans as possible. An idea grows stronger when it's shared, and with every stop we're harnessing the energy of hope. The more plants we seed, the more flowers will grow. I can see them taking shape already.
Please support our final efforts to create hope and possibility. |
