Joe Manchin is not running. But I am.

Dear Sharra,

Joe Manchin won't be running to represent the people of West Virginia in the United States Senate.

But I am.

Manchin says he will not seek reelection. NYT headline.

I'm Zach Shrewsbury. I'm a Marine Corps veteran, a working-class Democrat, a proud father, and a lifelong West Virginian.

Two weeks ago, we launched our campaign for the United States Senate at a rally over in Charles Town, West Virginia. And ever since, the response from folks across the country has been overwhelming. Thousands have joined with us — ready to help bring the change that West Virginians, and working class Americans, have been demanding for years.

With you standing with us, this is truly just the beginning. I know we have what it takes to defend this seat here in West Virginia.

If you haven't become a founding member of Team Shrewsbury, now is the moment and it's never been more important. Can you chip in $15 or more now and help defend the Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate?

So why am I the right candidate for the people of West Virginia? Because we always deserved better than we got with Joe Manchin.

It's not acceptable that working families have been sacrificed at the altar of corporations and their D.C. lobbyists.

It's not acceptable that extreme politicians threaten our right to vote and our access to the polls.

It's not acceptable that my kid has to practice "Active Shooter Drills" at school because members of Congress won't ban the sale of military-grade assault weapons.

It's not acceptable that people in Texas and Georgia and South Carolina can be criminally prosecuted for trying to access healthcare when we could have codified Roe for everyone.

My top priorities as West Virginia's next Senator include passing strong labor protections, enacting universal healthcare, and addressing the addiction crisis. The elected leaders we send to Washington must be accountable to the people they represent, and they must prove to voters that democracy can work for them.

That's why I'm running for the Senate, and I want you on my team. Can you make a donation to help us meet our November fundraising goal so I can fight for families like yours and mine?

Oorah,
