I know this race won't be easy, but working families deserve better than Joe Manchin. He's been undermining President Biden's legislative agenda at every turn; he's opposed the Build Back Better proposal, filibuster reform, a $15 minimum wage, or so many other policies that Democrats have been championing for working families.
Enough. It's time to deliver bold, courageous Democratic leadership for the people of West Virginia.
I'm not like most career politicians, and it's not hard to spot the differences. I come from working class people. We value hard, honest work done in the service of others. It's not about what you can get for yourself; it's about doing all you can for our communities.
As a Marine, I proudly lived by the values of honor, courage and commitment — and I'm proud to say that I still do today.
Those values aren't something we see in Washington, D.C., and especially not from folks like Joe Manchin.
West Virginia deserves better than Joe Manchin's self-serving politics. We need strong, trustworthy Democratic leadership for our state. That's why I'm running.
It won't be easy. Joe Manchin has made a fortune off the people of our state, and he's backed by some of the dirtiest energy companies in America. But I know how to win tough fights. I've done it before as a Marine — and I'll do it again now, especially if I have you with me.
