Dear Sharra, Since we have not made it into the top tier of presidential candidates, the question has become whether there is a solid reason to remain in the race. As I travel around the country, I am constantly approached by people who tell me to "stay in there as long as you can. We need you in the conversation!" I know what they're saying, and I know why they're saying it. I'm talking about things that others are not talking about, addressing root causes not otherwise being addressed, and refusing to stay within the box that establishment forces have determined are the issues it's okay to discuss. As long as the campaign exists, we are "in the conversation." I'm not saying we could come in first, second, or even third in Iowa. What I'm saying is that we could possibly come in fourth or fifth. And that itself is a reason to stay in the race. Anything that counts as "better than expected" is something that allows our campaign to penetrate the political ethers. Our issues remain a vital part of the conversation. We're a creative inconvenience to the forces of stagnation that dominate our politics today. Our campaign is not just for the White House. Our campaign is for a transformed America. And toward that effort, we have only just begun. At every talk I give, I see reasons why this is important. I see people beginning to grasp the larger significance of what we're doing. And I see the passion this brings up for them. The larger conversation is just revving up. The call for the moral repair of America should not just be a whisper at such a time as this. Let us shout it from the mountaintop that America can turn around.
