Dear Sharra, The function of a political party should be to aid the process by which voters choose their elected officials, yet too often political parties act in ways that do more to dictate than to facilitate. And that's what's happening now. The arbitrary process by which candidates were required to get 2% in 4 DNC-designated polls in order to be in the 3rd debate is an example. This process is unfortunately not about ideas, but about power. I did get 130,000 donors, but I got 2% in only one of the DNC-designated polls. Only a few of the polling companies even released findings, and am I the only person who ever asked herself, "Who are the people they poll??" I do not believe this process is fair, and it's clearly not democratic. There is the world of the voters, and there is the world of the DNC. And it is voters who should matter most. Voters do not need their choices narrowed at this moment; they're just beginning to process their thoughts and feelings about the race that lies ahead. My campaign, if anything, is only starting to rev up. People understand what I'm saying, crowds are growing, and the enthusiasm is palpable. I'm having a different conversation, that is true—but people are recognizing that a different conversation is exactly what we need. I am running for president to help interrupt a rigged system, and this situation is a perfect example of the rigging. But I'm not going anywhere. I can still get into the 4th debate in October, as long as I make 2% in 3 more polls. And for that, we need your help. This will take a lot of money. Only a campaign infrastructure big enough to compete with other campaigns will be able to deliver us the numbers. Please donate to counter gatekeeper dominance and make the democratic process a true expression of the will of the people. DONATEWe're only just getting started.
