Celebration and Rededication

Dear Sharra,    Today is Labor Day, as well as the six month anniversary of our presidential campaign. In both cases it's a day to celebrate what's been won already, and to dedicate ourselves anew to the work ahead. In both cases the institutional resistance to our stand for justice is strong, but we are stronger. In both cases the goal of our movement aligns with the yearning of the majority of Americans for a fairer and more beautiful world. Today we reflect on where we've been, as well as do everything we can to move forward.  As relates to our campaign, your financial support is pivotal in order to fuel the next phase of the campaign. From ballot access costs to the expansion of staff, from social media to travel and more, we cannot get where we need to go without the generosity of our supporters.   One day the nefarious Citizens United decision will be overturned.  One day this country will pass a Constitutional Amendment providing public funding for federal campaigns.  Until that day, however, the cost of running for political office is obscenely high.
