Marianne's campaign for the presidency is officially one week old!

I know you've heard from us a lot this past week — about goals and deadlines and how we need your support to keep this movement growing. I'm writing to you from the parking lot outside our latest event in New Hampshire — another packed house — because I wanted to take a moment to explain why this first week is so critical to the long term success of Marianne's campaign.

Reporting strong early fundraising signals the strength of our movement to pundits, the media, outside groups, and other potential candidates. Try as some might to minimize us, discount us, or discredit our movement, numbers never lie. We need to show the whole world exactly how serious we are about this campaign and this moment.

And practically, having the resources we need early on enables us to reach voters and build a winning campaign. Marianne's here in New Hampshire right now meeting with folks on the ground, and she just came from South Carolina. Our campaign plan is absolutely as aggressive as possible, and it will be crucial that we maintain our momentum.

Einstein said we wouldn't solve the problems of the world from the level of thinking we were at when we created them. It's time for a new beginning, and this will only happen if we're willing to look at the world in a different way.

We need a politics that treats not just symptoms, but the root cause. That does not base itself on the crass imperatives of endless corporate profit, but on the eternal imperatives of our principles and values. And we need a leader, Marianne Williamson, to drive that transformation.
