Hi Sharra, Look, I'm not going to sugar coat it. Voter turnout is a serious problem—especially during midterm elections. Getting people to turn out to the polls can be particularly problematic in states like Texas. In the primary election earlier this year, only 17.2% of all eligible Texas voters cast their ballot. But in Harris County, that number dropped even lower! Just 14% of our voters showed up to the polls. These are voices that need to be heard. The good news? There's so much we can do to increase voter turnout in the general election on November 8th. The bad news? It's going to take some effort—likely considerable effort—from all of us. The first step? I've created this simple pledge. |
