Sharra, the Q1 numbers are in, and all I can say is wow. Grassroots donors like you made Q1 2021 ActBlue’s biggest first quarter of any election cycle by dollars raised, contributions, unique donors, and number of groups fundraising. 2.6 million donors gave $314 million to 10,603 campaigns and organizations. This small-dollar donor movement isn’t slowing down. Donors across the country are motivated, engaged, and focused on investing in long-term change after an unprecedented election cycle. This quarter, contributions to congressional (House and Senate) candidates tripled compared to Q1 in 2019, and the dollars raised for state candidates who have an election in 2021 more than doubled compared to Q1′19. We also witnessed the power of grassroots donors nationwide. Small-dollar donors not only helped Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff win the Georgia runoffs, securing the Senate and giving Democrats a government trifecta, but we also saw a national outpouring of support that extended beyond the political arena. Small-dollar donors like you came together and responded to crises like the devastating winter storms in Texas, a surge in hate crimes against Asian Americans, and attacks on voting rights in Georgia. Nonprofits raised 5 times more this quarter compared to Q1 2019, from 3.8 times the number of contributions. Grassroots donors like you are proving time and time again that this movement is unstoppable. We look forward to supporting you and thousands of progressive groups, Democratic campaigns, and nonprofits who are working on the frontlines to make our country a more just, equitable, and democratic place. Thanks for reading, — Hannah Brown P.S. Small-dollar donors like you made history this quarter! If you’re fired up, please read and share this blog post with your friends and family.
