it's the journey not the destination... food, infertility, skin care, brooklyn, gut renovations and marriage.

Renovation? Check. The rest of it--hmmm?

Where to begin, so much has happened. 2 weeks ago, the contractors finished the last of the punch list items of the renovation. They added the last sink which was so heavy a striking steel structure was build to support it--seems those things take about 5 months. Alas, we have a finished home--a beautiful finished home-it's still sinking in. I am amazed by the people who are able to purge the process onto a blog because, it's quite a headache. There was nothing fun about it after designing the layout and selecting the tile.

Since I skipped that process entirely and the follow up on IVF which didn't work out I will shift focus and move about to blog my newest venture. Adoption but I will upload pictures of the reno on the 2060 ft condo as soon as I figure out how.

I bought my adoption books, interviewed my adoption parent friends, researched agencies, poured over blogs and I still know very little. I had a phone introduction with a lovely woman in the domestic adoption program at Spence Chapin and will be attending my intro meeting armed with questions next month. In the meantime my 1st International Adoption Program introduction with the same agency was just completed on an online webinar (an online meeting and conference call). I took notes and wrote questions. Covered were fees, agency support, countries participating and their guidelines for adoptive parents, wait time and info on the children available from each country. I know more than I did before and now have even more questions.

This is the wee beginning. I'm excited, overwhelmed, trying to gain as much knowledge as I can nervous but this is what I've always wanted.
